cancel request or cancellation request
Dear English expertsMy team member likes to use the word "cancel request " which is confusing me.
I only heard "cancellation request" before.
My sentence is always like "After you withdrewthe application, your manager will receive a cancellation request.
". But her sentence would be like "After you withdrew the application, your manager will receive a cancel request."
Are we both right? I know "cancel" could be a noun though.

Cancellation request is grammatically correct and more natural. But both is fine I think, not a major mistake. I am a native speaker.

Thank you for the reply. It is an important grammar to me. We use this sentence quite frequently. Appreciate! Also, it should be 'After you withdraw* the application...' because it hasn't happened yet.
Or you can say:
'When the application is withdrawn...'
