【心得感想】 接續 Rock of Ages (搖滾年代) 電影原聲帶經典歌曲, 接著第十首要分享的是出自 Foreigner 在 1984 的專輯 Agent Provocateur 的第一首主打歌 I Want to Know What Love Is. 以單曲來看, 這歌可算是 Foreigner 在榜上成績最好的作品了, 這歌當年幾乎橫掃全世界主流排行榜, 同時佔據美 (Billboard Hot 100),加 (Canadian Hot 100),英 (UK Singles), 澳 (ARIA) ... 等榜單第 1 名. 這歌雖拿下主流搖滾排行榜 (Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks) 第 1 名, 但意外在抒情排行榜 (Billboard AC Chart) 只獲得第 3 名. 專輯 Agent Provocateur 也只到專輯排行榜 (Billboard 200) 第 4 名, 不過在英國專輯榜 (UK Albums Chart) 總算拿到冠軍寶座.
柔情的 I Want to Know What Love Is 被包括像 Tina Arena, Mariah Carey... 等知名歌手翻唱也就不意外, 另外像電視影集如 Miami Vice , Quantum Leap ,King of the Hill , General Hospital , American Dad! 等也都出現過. 電影或電玩出現的就不再列舉. 受歡迎的經典好歌, 也被 Rolling Stone 雜誌 2004 年版評為 500 大好歌 (500 greatest songs of all time) 第 476 名; VH1 在 2006 節目列此歌為 1980s 年代最熱門百大 (100 Greatest Songs of the 80's) 第 65 名...
【其它補充】 今日拜電影 Rock of Ages 又讓人再次激起 1980s 的激情, Foreigner 也是這電影原聲帶裡唯一被收錄 2 首歌以上的樂團; 電影裡原聲帶的版本是由 Tom Cruise 跟 Malin Akerman 一同詮釋, 還是蠻訝異聽到阿湯哥的歌聲, 而且劇情拍的有點... 希望大家撐得住 ... {:51:}就在此一併貼出分享; 照慣例, 歌詞仍附在最後
